Why have girls recently started wearing exessive dark makeup around their eyes?

It makes them look like they either got punched in each eye or are on drugs. Is that the new style? I've seen it in teen magazines and recently on girls in public. I think it horrible!Why have girls recently started wearing exessive dark makeup around their eyes?
Well I believe its called the smokey eye look and in the seventy's ';herion chic '; anyway last year it was done with charcoal black but the trend this spring is to do it with colors plums, blues, pinks ,violets, ect. should be interesting!Why have girls recently started wearing exessive dark makeup around their eyes?
They copy what Hollywood does. Somebody did it on TV if teens are doing it.

Maybe they want to cover up haveing a black eye or their drug use.

recently? are you kidding? certain girls have been doing that since there has been makeup in the first place. dont pretend you live in such a changed world. if you think about the history of anything, you'll see that everything is almost exactly the same as it's always been, just more of it as time passes and with a few different details. jeez...
Because every girl that loves ROCK music does this. It's the new stile! GROW UP....
I have heredity undereye bags.. so any time i put eyeliner on it looks dark. But i just put makeup under my eye so it'll brighten my eyes.





So people (LIke me) cant help the fact their eyes are naturally dark.
well i only wear eyeliner on top of my eyelids and on the bottom, i do this bcus im use to it. if i don't were it i feel naked lol. but it looks good and im not trying to look like nobody :)
Girls have always been wearing dark makeup. It used to only be natural colors like browns, but now, girls are wearing dark blues.





The worst thing is that girls don't blend. It's tons of eyeshadow, and then there's a huge line where their eyeshadow and lid meet. Just horrible.
well, wearing dark makeup is someones style.


Personally, i love dark makeup.


It doesnt have to mean that when people use dark makeup, they're goths or drug addicts.

same here it makes them look funky but who knows its in style these days cause kids are try'n to look gothic!NASTY
they want to be like stars so that people start comparing them they want to be able to feel good and ignore their insecurities
they didn't start it recently. it has been around since i was in 8th grade, note that i'm now in my junior year of college. i would see teenagers walk around with very dark makeups or so called the ';smokey eyes'; in their own opinions. i would rather consider it as a makeup disaster. smokey eyes should look so much better than that.
It is in Elle. Have u seen Teen People, and Tyra Banks?Many models with very dark complexion suits the expressive deep makeup, which make her eyes look deeper. People with lighter skin have tried to copy that, without, mostlikely, success.
My mom tells me the same thing and personally, I do it because I think it looks good. Its called the ';smoky eye'; look.
