What makeup would work with green eyes?

I like mixing shades of eye shadow, and I always, always wear black mascara. What would look better on green eyes though? Gold and brown shades or grey and black shades? Or any other ideas?

Despite what you may have heard, avoid greens! All green eye shadow does is camouflage your gorgeous eyes. To make your eyes stand out, you need a shade that contrasts yet complements your green eye shade. Some great color ideas for green eyes include plums, purple, violet, brown and gold. Grey is also a great colour - especially for a smokey look. Don't be afraid to experiment with bolder, brighter colors.

If you have light skin, you will want to go with a brown-hued eyeliner instead of black or even a plum or purple shade of eyeliner. Put the color eyeliner in the corners of your bottom eyelash area then line the whole top lashes with the same color. Next try a light color eye shadow and put it on your brow bone area then a darker shade on your lid.

Almay has a line of eye makeup specifically for green eyes that you might want to try out - other companies do similar products, targeted at specific eye colours.

When applying your eye shadow, the proper technique can create that 'pop' more than the actual makeup color. Traditional eye shadow powders are very easy to use with small applicator brushes and foam pads. For a dimensional look, blend two colors of powder or one color of powder on top of a cream shadow base.

With cream-based eye shadows, remember that less really is more. The cream shadows generally come in small squeeze tubes that really enhance the look of your eyes with a light application across the lid, reaching up to your brows if you wish. You may like to use a small tipped brush or a Q-tip to help you apply the cr猫me properly.

Also, here's a useful eye makeup tip: running or melting eye shadow is a problem for many women, but there is a way to make it 'stick' a little longer. If you use a damp eye shadow brush and apply a layer of face powder to your lids and allow setting; the shadow will stay in place for the whole day.

Hope I've helped! xWhat makeup would work with green eyes?
Well I have very striking green eyes and I've found that different colours work with different shades of green. The main colours that definately work with all shades of green are brown, gold and smokey grey or any variations on those colours (lighter or darker) as these are undertones that are in green eyes so really make your eyes pop. I use black mascara/eyeliner because I have olive skin and dark hair so it doesn't look too harsh. If black looks good on you stick to that theres really no point changing. Other colours that I've heard work well are plum and really deep purple colours, but these overpower my eyes but I've seen other girls with green eyes and it makes their eyes really stand out because of the contrast. So try it it might work :] Also people say you shouldn't wear green eyeshadow but I've used olive green and other green shades and I've found these help to bring out the green in my eyes, its just really green eyeshadows that are bad. Anyway the only advice that is really useful is to experiment, we're all different and have different tones in our eyes. Only colour thats a definate no-no is blue, but who knows that might work for you. Have fun experimenting!
use golds, browns, light greens, pale pinks, use brown eyeliner on it's own with black mascara and it's fab or a light green eyeshadow with black mascara and clear gloss or you could do gold eyshadow with brown eye liner cocoa mascara and clear lip gloss and it's defines your eyes excellantly and makes you look like you havent tried to much but fab! experiment with these coulours and see which ones you prefer!

I hope i helped.
If you're under 35 then pretty much any colour will go well with your eyes (I'd avoid orange and pink though). Lilac would be nice if you want a nice colour for going out. For daytime stick to neutral shade over the lid and brown at the outer corners. Green if it's a bright green would be nice too.
try use gold on the entire lid and a plum color in the crease and outer corner. i use this with my green eyes and it looks good.

glad to help :]
For colours and eyeshadow stuff just I think from how you describe yourself you could experiment with earthy tones or experiment with all colours and get feedback from your friends
